Stephen Woodring Park Receives H-GAC Park and Natural Areas Award

March 6, 2026

HOUSTON — Stephen Woodring Park, a Halff and Harris County Municipal District No. 71 project, received a Certificate of Recognition from the 2025 Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Parks and Natural Areas Awards in the On-the-Ground Project Over $500K category.

H-GAC established the Parks and Natural Areas awards program in 2006 to highlight best practices and innovative approaches to parks planning and implementation. H-GAC honors outstanding parks and natural areas across the Houston-Galveston region. Stephen Woodring Park is being recognized for serving as a model for other projects in the 13-county region.

The revitalization of Stephen Woodring Park for Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 71 was an effort to create a vibrant green space for recreation and community. Halff integrated sustainable site solutions into updated amenities, blending educational features with plenty of green space to create a vibrant and integral public space where the community could gather.
