City of Pearland
This project involved developing a multiphased active transportation plan to provide safe and connected access from points of origin (residential neighborhoods and subdivisions) to key destinations (schools, parks, commercial/retail centers).
Pedestrian facilities were planned for 25 principal thoroughfares to link the City’s key activity centers and consisted of a network of 10-foot-wide (east-west) and eight-foot-wide (north-south) shared-use facilities and
10-foot-wide off-street recreational trails.
Halff facilitated a robust public engagement program and analyzed existing conditions, including the City’s thoroughfare and pedestrian facility standards and regulations. Halff then formulated a plan for a safe and efficient active transportation program.
