Halff’s Lewisville Business 121 Corridor Study Receives Texas APA Planning Achievement Award

LEWISVILLE, Texas – Halff’s Business 121 Corridor Study for the City of Lewisville received a Planning Achievement Award in the Economic Development Planning category from the American Planning Association Texas Chapter (APATX).

The Texas Planning Awards recognize exceptional planning achievements and leadership across Texas, honoring the state’s highest standards of innovation, engagement, effectiveness and planning excellence.

The Lewisville Business 121 Corridor Study focused on eight miles of Business 121, a TxDOT-owned and operated arterial that serves as a primary gateway into Lewisville and a key connection to the city’s Old Town district. Halff’s multidisciplinary team developed strategies to improve safety, beautification, economic development, access management and multimodal transportation along the corridor.

The comprehensive study evaluated land use, zoning, transportation and streetscape needs across five distinct sub-areas and identified three catalytic sites for potential redevelopment. The plan provides the City of Lewisville with a framework for future reinvestment and improvements along the corridor.

This marks the second recognition for the project, which was also named a 2025 North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) Celebrating Leadership in Development Excellence (CLIDE) Award winner in the Planning & Public Policy category.
