Brownsville Sidewalk and Trails Master Plan Collects Texas APA Gold

RICHARDSON, Texas — The City of Brownsville Sidewalk and Trails Master Plan, designed by Halff Associates, Inc. (Halff), was honored with the Gold Award in the Transportation category from the Texas Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA).

The master plan achieves Brownsville’s objectives of increasing safety through the connectivity of pedestrian facilities infrastructure. The plan addresses the community’s need for improved and accessible transportation. Projects within the plan have either been completed or are in construction. New additions included 4.3 miles of sidewalks, 11.1 miles of off-street recreational trails, 792 linear feet of multiuse paths and five pedestrian refuges.

So far in 2022, Halff has won 14 project awards.
