Matt Craig Receives the 2024 WTS Honorable Ray LaHood Man of the Year Award

RICHARDSON, Texas — The Greater Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) recognized Halff Transportation Deputy Practice Leader Matt Craig, PE, with the Honorable Ray LaHood Man of the Year Award.

The Honorable Ray LaHood Man of the Year award recognizes men who lead by example by advocating for the advancement of women in the transportation field and who have made an outstanding contribution to the industry.

Over his 40-year career, Matt has exemplified servant leadership by playing an important role in the firm’s growth through his mentorship. His dedication to helping others has resulted in women comprising two-thirds of Halff’s Richardson Transportation team.

Halff’s Matt Craig was recently recognized with the Honorable Ray LaHood Man of the Year Award by the WTS Greater DFW Chapter. 

Matt’s diverse engineering expertise built on prior experience in highway and utility design has allowed him to serve in a multitude of roles in transportation, environmental, municipal and private sector projects. Most recently, he served as lead engineer for the Rockwall County Outer Loop Feasibility Study.

Matt’s ability to listen and convey information has made him a trusted leader in the community. He has conducted more than 400 public meetings, city council meetings, neighborhood association meetings and Chamber meetings to provide technical information and address the public about any project concerns they may have.

Matt received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and his master’s degree in engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
