Trinity Forest Spine Trail Collects ASLA Texas Accolade

May 3, 2023

RICHARDSON, Texas The Trinity Forest Spine Trail, a Halff project, earned a merit award in the Planning and Analysis category for the 2023 Texas American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Professional Awards

Located near the iconic White Rock Lake spillway, the Trinity Forest Spine Trail will connect Dallas neighborhoods to existing and programmed trails along both sides of the White Rock Creek corridor as it meanders southward toward its confluence with the Trinity River.

Southeast Dallas residents will gain new access to greenways, nature and linear park spaces. This thoughtfully landscaped and engineered alignment enables an entire quadrant of Dallas, which has historically had limited access, to enjoy nature trails for recreational or purposeful trips.

Pathways to the Lawnview and Lake June light rail transit stations extend both intermodal and recreational opportunities to an area of Dallas that’s traditionally been underserved.

For a third consecutive year, Halff has won a Texas ASLA Award. The Walter E. Long Vision Plan received a merit award in 2021 and the Deep Fork Greenway Trail also earned a merit award in 2022.
