Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center Project Team Earns ULI Award
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center recently received the Outstanding Public Initiative Award from the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Oklahoma in 2024. Halff worked with the project team, which included FSB Architects & Engineers.
The Willa D. Johnson Recreation Center opened in July 2023 and is the first City-owned multigenerational center to open in Oklahoma City in more than 40 years.

The 38,000-square foot recreation center features a fitness area, lounge, multipurpose room, multisport gym, a chef’s kitchen and an indoor swimming pool.
The Halff team worked with project architects to incorporate the site into the existing park and splash pad, improve vehicular circulation, provide an entry drop-off, and create outdoor patios, landscape improvements, site walkways and pedestrian amenities while maintaining existing mature trees.
