Florida Department of Transportation Central Office

Halff worked with the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) section to deploy connected vehicle (CV) roadside units (RSU) at designated corridors. Halff supported the RSU installation, testing and integration into traffic signal cabinets along U.S. 90 (Mahan) in the City of Tallahassee.

The project equipped 22 intersections with dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) radios to broadcast signal phase and timing (SPaT) information to on-board units in vehicles. This project included design and testing of connected vehicle technology to infrastructure.
