Trinity River Authority of Texas

This project facilitated construction of a new 20.5 mgd capacity submersible lift station on the same site as existing construction of a new electrical building to house the main electrical and communication equipment, installation of electrical, instrumentation and controls to provide a fully functional lift station.

The underground structure of the new lift station includes a 20-foot wide by 5-foot long by 33.5-foot deep influent box, a 26-foot wide by 20-foot long by 49-foot deep divided wet well and a 26-foot-wide by 12-foot long by 9-foot deep valve vault.

During construction, Halff provided construction inspection of the lift station, electrical building, demo of existing building and the back-up generator.

Halff inspectors ensured conformance to the final plans and specifications including preparation of field observation reports, photos of field observations, coordination with testing lab and review of materials testing reports. They also communicated regularly with the contractor, TRA inspector and engineer of record.
