Building Connections on Campus

September was all about career fair season as our teams headed to college campuses across the region. Employees spent the month meeting students, sharing their experiences and talking about internships, career opportunities and what life at Halff can look like. Each stop offered a chance to introduce the next generation of professionals to the people, projects and culture behind our work.

As another busy recruiting season winds down, those conversations are giving students a closer look at where their careers could take them and what those paths could look like at Halff. With just one career fair remaining, the season may be almost in the books, but the connections made along the way are just getting started.

Conferences & Events

Halff’s federal, PLA and public works professionals connected with public and private sector leaders at industry conferences across the country this month, strengthening relationships, sharing technical expertise, and exploring opportunities to support future infrastructure and community development projects.

Halff attended the SAME Pacific Industry Forum in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the 2026 Arizona Conference on Roads & Streets in Tucson.

Join Our Team

Senior Designer: Water/Wastewater

Location: Tavares, FL

Help shape water and wastewater infrastructure by developing detailed designs for treatment plants, pumping facilities and other improvement projects. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with engineers and project managers, mentor junior designers and contribute innovative solutions to complex design challenges.

Sr. Project Manager/Team Leader: Public Works/Land Development

Location: Orlando, FL

Lead public works and land development projects from design to permitting while managing staff, supporting client relationships and mentoring developing professionals. This role combines project management, technical oversight and business development to help deliver residential, commercial and industrial projects across Central Florida.

Halff Community Initiative (HCI)

The Brownsville office donated $400 to purchase groceries for the Good Neighbor Settlement House, with employees personally delivering the supplies to help the organization continue serving nutritious meals to the community.

The Tyler office supported Bethesda Health Clinic with a donation to further its mission of providing affordable, high-quality healthcare to underserved families across East Texas.

Halff’s Culture

Water Resources employees from Houston and The Woodlands traded project work for pickleball paddles during a team-building outing filled with friendly competition. No official tally was kept, but the team scored high levels of fun on the court!

The Communications team put its problem-solving skills to the test at Breakout Games in Plano, racing to see who could escape first. One group stopped a runaway train while the other escaped from a kidnapper, with the second team claiming bragging rights by breaking out with 9 minutes and 37 seconds to spare!

Halff Bag Travels

Kylie DeGilio (left) brought her Halff bag along for an adventure through Spain, visiting Barcelona, Valencia and the La Tomatina Festival in Buñol. She also stopped in Girona, known for serving as a filming location for King’s Landing and several other iconic settings in Game of Thrones.

Brian Vazquez and his wife took their Halff bag on a five-day trek through Peru’s Salkantay Pass, with Machu Picchu waiting at the finish. Safe to say the view was worth the journey!
