HEC-RAS 2D Training

HEC-RAS 2D has become a common tool for analyzing urban, flat terrain, confluences and other complex flooding scenarios. Learn HEC-RAS 2D in this hands-on two-and-a-half-day training class. You will leave with an understanding of:

  • 2D Hydrodynamic Fundamentals
  • Terrain Preparation and Editing
  • Preparing Critical Model Layers (Manning’s ‘n’, etc.)
  • 2D Boundary Conditions
  • 2D Structures (Culverts, Bridges, and Inline)
  • Pipe Networks
  • Rain-on-Mesh Modeling
  • Visualizing and Reviewing Results
  • Numeric Tolerances and Computation Settings
  • Model Review and Auditing

About the Training

Important: This training is reserved for public agencies only. Participants should have a basic understanding of HEC-RAS 1D, steady-state modeling. Unsteady HEC-RAS modeling experience would also be helpful, but is not necessary.

For more information or questions regarding this training, please contact RASTraining@Halff.com.

Note: Participants should bring their own laptop with HEC-RAS 7.0 installed. Halff will provide the workshop data for download and by flash drive. Click here to download the software for free.
