Project Portfolio: Waco Riverwalk

The federally funded Waco Riverwalk Phase 2A project, which begins at the Franklin Avenue Bridge and runs along the Brazos River, connects downtown Waco to Baylor’s McLane Stadium. The 0.6-mile, $4.5 million project includes an elevated boardwalk along the Brazos River, an overlook, a pedestrian bridge, a Union Pacific railroad underpass structure and wayfinding.

The Waco Riverwalk was part of the City’s master plan. Halff previously worked with the City on the Brazos Park East Trail, and because of the success of that project, the City asked Halff to put together a grant to TxDOT for the riverwalk. The grant was selected, and Halff was chosen for the riverwalk’s design.
