Baytown Parks and Recreation Master Plan Recognized by TRAPS

March 4, 2022

The Baytown Parks, Recreation, Trails and Open Space Master Plan designed by Halff Associates, Inc. (Halff) for the City of Baytown, Texas, has earned the 2022 Planning Excellence Award by the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS).

This plan goes beyond the conventional parks master plan. It incorporates extensive health initiatives, increased park access and active transportation initiatives, proactive resilience actions, habitat restoration and nature-based tourism.

This plan enables Baytown’s Parks and Recreation Department to promote health and well-being across the community, preserve and manage the City’s unique ecological and marine resources, and seize opportunities for economic growth and development.

In 2021, the Baytown master plan received special recognition from the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) in the Parks and Natural Areas award category.

This is the third award for Halff in 2022. For a full list of awards, click here.
