Halff’s Clint Smith Named to ASCE’s New Faces of Civil Engineering - Professional in 2025

AUSTIN, Texas — Halff Project Manager Clint Smith, PE, CFM, was named a New Face of Civil Engineering Professional by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

ASCE honors 10 exceptional civil engineers aged 30 or younger from around the world. Each individual boasts strong accomplishments, represents the best of the industry and shows promise for great things in the future.

Smith, who holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, started as a graduate civil engineer before moving into the role of civil engineer and then project manager in water/wastewater. He works with clients on drinking water and wastewater line modeling and designs, water supply master planning, flood planning studies and surface water quality improvement projects.

Smith is chair-elect of the ASCE Committee on Younger Members (CYM) and is the vice chair of ASCE’s MOSAIC (Members of Society Advancing an Inclusive Culture). As a member of MOSAIC, he created the Code of Conduct for ASCE events and continually strives to ensure that all members’ voices are heard and represented. With CYM, he helps create programming for younger members to learn from and grow into a career they love.

Smith is also actively involved in the Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI) and the Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT). In his free time, he also actively volunteers with the Halff Community Initiative (HCI).

In 2023, Smith received the A. Ivan Johnson Award for Young Professionals from the American Water Resources Association (AWRA).
