This project involved the new 10 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant in McAllen, Texas, which was funded by the Texas Water Development Board. Project included the design of the primary selective with onsite standby generation distribution system with loop feed transformers for added reliability to the wastewater plant. Based on TCEQ requirements on emergency backup power, Halff team designed the emergency systems of the plant. The emergency system consisted of a 1,000 kW standby diesel generator and two 400 kW generators. The design included the electrical distribution and circuiting to the influent pump station, influent pump station odor control, headworks, headworks odor control, aeration basins, secondary clarifiers, digesters, ras/was pumps, blower building, ultraviolet disinfection, maintenance building, administration building, and dewatering facility.
