Four Halff Projects Collect Five APA Honors

Four Halff projects were recently recognized with American Planning Association (APA) awards. The City of Prairie View Livable Centers Study received the APA Houston section Public Outreach Silver Award and the APA Texas chapter Public Outreach Silver Award. The San Marcos Natural Areas Land Management Plan earned an APA Texas Environmental Planning Silver Award. Other awards include the Jonesboro Health Accelerator Plan (2024 APA Arkansas Plan of the Year for communities of 30,000 or more) and the Twin Lakes Master Plan (APA Oklahoma chapter Outstanding Plan).

Additionally, the APA announced that the City of Jacksonville received the 2024 National Planning Award for Resilience and Sustainability for its Resilient Jacksonville strategy, which Halff served as a subconsultant in the strategic development of the plan to the Water Institute.

HCI Updates

Keith Courson made a donation on behalf of HCI to Box 4 Fire Buff Association, a nonprofit organization that supports the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department.

Baton Rouge joined in on a beloved HCI tradition of packing and decorating Sweet Cases for Foster Love, a non-profit that makes the foster care experience better for the 430,000 children going through it. Sweet cases are given to children transitioning from home to home.

Fayetteville volunteers came together for a cleanup and removed trash from Lake Fayetteville Trails!

Halff’s Human Resources team volunteered at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC). FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit, and works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development.

Jacksonville volunteers delivered Sweet Cases to Daniel Kids. Daniel Kids provides residential, community-based, foster care, homeless and adoption services to over 5,000 children and families in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to the Sweet Cases, HCI donated $2,000 which will be used to purchase needed items for their homes and residents.

Teaming Together

Fort Worth and Richardson employees served breakfast at the annual UCTA clay shoot, which Halff proudly sponsors every year!

San Antonio’s Transportation team put their skills to the test in an escape room for their team-building activity.

Halff was well represented at the annual Little Rock Big Dam Bridge Ride! As a sponsor for the event, Halff provided essential services such as route mapping, swag distribution, aid station supplies and end-of-race support. Several employees diligently managed the Halff tent while others took on the fun task of riding bicycles.

Recent fall temperatures called for office chili cook-off competitions. Seventeen teams from the Richardson and Frisco offices battled it out for judge’s choice, people’s choice and best team name trophies. Team 007: License to Chili ultimately pulled off the rare trifecta, winning all three awards!

Halff offices went all out for Halloween from costume contests to spooky office decor!
